About the Coalition
The Coalition of International Development Companies was formed by more than 50 of the nation’s most effective, efficient and innovative international development companies to:
- Support America’s efforts abroad by bringing highly-skilled, entrepreneurial assistance to developing countries so they can overcome complex and critically important challenges;
- Advance American policies and goals overseas by working through contract mechanisms that provide for accountable and transparent results;
- Communicate more directly the value of American international development companies in building local expertise and capacity overseas and in providing reliable on-the-ground social, economic, health, and governance programs to those most in need; and,
- Deliver cost-effective results for the American taxpayer.
CIDC will achieve these goals by showcasing the positive impact international development companies have worldwide in partnership with the US government – in food security, clean water, health care, the environment, economic growth, education, governance – and by sharing their stories, expertise and priorities with policymakers, the media and other influencers in Washington, DC and around the world.
The CIDC operates in partnership with the Professional Services Council and its International Development Task Force.
